Information for ParentsThe Washburn Games provides your child with an opportunity to give back. Together with our corporate sponsors, the money your child raises directly benefits the children with social, emotional and behavioral problems. There are two ways for kids to participate:
1) Pay a $10 registration fee
OR
2) Raise $100 or more for Washburn Center for Children
and be eligible for prize drawings. Participants can
create their own personal fundraising page
to make fundraising easy, and track cash/check
donations using this form.
Although The Washburn Games centers around an afternoon of fun and exploration, your child will be recognized for the contribution he/she has made to other children and our broader community. By giving children the opportunity to give back, they learn that altruism, generosity, and community involvement can be both fun for them and critically important to the lives of others.

Washburn Center for Children is Minnesota's leading children's mental health center, caring for a wide variety of children's needs such as trauma, anxiety, depression and learning difficulties. As a vital community resource, Washburn serves more than 2,700 children and approximately 7,200 family members each year through an array of center-based, in-home and school programs.
The nonprofit has been helping Twin Cities at-risk children for nearly 130 years, and has received numerous accolades, including: 2011 Star Tribune Top Workplace and 2009 Provider of the Year by NAMI Minnesota.
When children with social, emotional and behavioral challenges receive early intervention, they are less likely to fail academically, drop out of school or become involved in the juvenile justice system. A parent or teacher wouldn't think twice about getting help for a child suffering from a physical injury. Washburn ensures caregivers also have a resource to help kids who are hurting "on the inside" - because children's mental health is as important as their physical health.
